Yes. Cremation only changes what happens to the body afterward — it does not limit the gathering. Common combinations:
- Full funeral first, then cremation. A traditional service with the body present (a casket can be rented), followed by cremation.
- Cremation first, then memorial. A service with the urn present, or simply with photographs.
- Direct cremation with a private family gathering later.
A viewing before cremation usually requires embalming and adds cost. A memorial after cremation can be as simple or as elaborate as you wish.
